Welcome to Home-Start Berkshire East

Home-Start Berkshire East was created by the merger of Family Friends Windsor and Maidenhead with Home-Start Slough. This merger is set to bring a wave of positive changes to the communities of Windsor, Maidenhead, Ascot and Slough, and provide a Home-Start delivery model across the whole of Berkshire.
Home-Start Slough were delighted to welcome the dedicated team and the volunteers from Family Friends. Their ethos and way of working align seamlessly with Home-Start Slough’s, creating a harmonious partnership that holds great promise.
Home-Start Berkshire East aims to raise the bar in family support services, both in Slough and across Windsor and Maidenhead empowering us to offer an even higher level of assistance to families in need.
Please bear with us whilst we update our website to reflect the new organisation.

Welcome to Home-Start Slough

Home-Start Slough has been supporting local families going through a difficult time for the past 21 years. In 2019, our 60-strong team of specially trained home-visiting volunteers provided non-judgemental, life-changing support to over 100 vulnerable families in the local area.

In times of great difficulty and stress, our volunteers have been a vital lifeline for parents, giving them the confidence and skills they need to cope with their daily lives and enabling children to grow up in a happy and stable environment.

We are the biggest local voluntary organisation to recruit and train volunteers to provide support and a listening ear to struggling families with children under five.

It costs in the region of £180,000 a year to keep our scheme going and we receive no government funding.
